Work for a higher purpose and greater cause
This is a story of three teachers. Once a founder of the renounced educational trust visited the school run by his trust.
On a visit to different classes, he asked one teacher “ What are you doing?” and the answer was “ I am teaching numbers to these children so that they learn Arithmetic”.He moved to the next class and asked the teacher there,“ What are you doing?” and the answer was “ I am teaching numbers to these children so that they become engineers and accountants”.He moved to the third class and asked the teacher there,“ What are you doing?” and the answer was “ I am teaching numbers to these children so that they become great Mathematicians and scientists who will lead the world”.
After 25 years, the Founder Trustee happened to meet all the three teachers on the occasion of Silver Jubilee of the trust.
The first teacher had become vice-principal of the school. The second teacher had taken up further studies and he became a renowned Financial consultant in the city. The third teacher not only did PhD in Mathematics but also published some international postdoctoral papers and had become world-famous Mathematician!
So friends, work for a higher purpose. We need to come out of a small me-Centric Circle. We need to spend our energy for the greater good and a larger community. We have a choice of selecting how much greater good and how big a community.
This will give us immense satisfaction in leading a purposeful life.
